What is Mindfulness? 

Have you ever driven your car somewhere and realized upon arriving at your destination that you couldn't remember how you got there?  It was as if your body drove the car but your mind was completely somewhere else.  In other words, you were literally on automatic pilot.  

Most of us have experienced this before. In reality, many of us live our day-to-day lives in this manner, hardly ever in the present moment, but rather thinking of past events or planning future ones.

Mindfulness is the practice of focusing our awareness on what is occurring in our bodies and minds within each moment. Through focusing our awareness we learn to relate non-judgmentally to our ever changing emotions thereby increasing our ability to cope with life's daily ups and downs.
